Background:

On 18 June 2003, the CPRI Parties (Ericsson AB, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd, NEC Corporation, Nortel Networks SA and Siemens AG) announced that an open interface would be specified between the Radio Equipment and the Radio Equipment Control of a base station. The Parties published a first version of the CPRI specification on 30 September 2003 on the CPRI homepage (www.cpri.info), and will continue to report progress through this forum. In addition, comments and proposals from external parties are encouraged, and for this purpose a special form is available on the homepage. The CPRI Day is a further step to openly report the progress of the specification work, as well as collecting comments and suggestions from external parties.

The CPRI Specification versions 1.4, 2.1, and 3.0 are now available for download on the Specification section of this homepage. A variety of CPRI products have been made available to the market by the individual CPRI Parties.
